Sudbrooke Archaeology Day 2009 - watch out the Romans are coming!

We had nearly 500 people come along to Archaeology Day and join in the activities this year. Unfortunately because of very wet weather a few days before we were unable to offer site tours. But people were welcome to come along the following week to see the site and many people did. This year we had Roman re-enactors, costume and mosaic making, Roman roof tile making, jewellery making and other craft activities. Finds from the site were available for people to have a look at as were photographs and plans of the site. Site staff were also on hand to answer questions.

Our thanks are extended to Day Farms, Sudbrooke Parish Council, Bishop Grosseteste University College and to everyone who helped out (before and on the actual day) and made the day so successful.
