Check out the Diary Dates page for the date of our next finds processing session in the Archaeology Lab at BG (Bishop Grosseteste University College Lincoln). We start about 11.00. Just turn up at the University College and ask at reception for Craig Spence, or better still send us an email to let us know you are coming and we can arrange for someone to meet you in reception. As always anyone intersted in getting involved is very welcome.

Finds-Processing - this as always is on-going. Check out the Diary Dates page for the latest dates.

BGLX11 - This is the site code for an excavation that took place this spring prior to the building of a new library on the University College campus. FOS volunteers were able to be involved in some of the digging and also the finds processing and other finds work.

Roman Tile Group - The tile group have enjoyed two workshops with Jane Young (Roman tile specialist) and are making headway with the large amounts of tile to be analysed from the Sudbrooke excavations. There will be a further workshop this September to learn about tile fabrics. If you are interested in taking part in the activitiy please contact us.

Dig 2012 - The provisional plan is to carry on digging on the BG campus and to extend the area dug this year. No dates have yet been set but they will be much the same as last year. If you are interested please email Craig Spence at craig.spence@bishopg.ac.uk

Childrens Archaeology Club - We are plannng to run a monthly Saturday morning archaeology club for children in Lincoln and the surrounding area. At the moment we are looking at how to fund this. Any ideas??? Would you like to make a donation???

Young persons Roman wallplaster group - We have applied for funding for interested young people (16 - 18) to work with us on our large collectoin of Roman wall plaster. Fingers crossed!

Dig 2011 - The excavation this summer was a big success with 2 trenches uncovering a variety of archaeology. The 'live' dig diary was on facebook with a week by week account and lots of photos. To have a look you will need to join facebook (if you are not already a member) and then search for 'the Lincoln Archaeological Field School'.
